Description

A thin layer of black shale plays host to a group of interlocking pale bluish green radiating Wavellite needle aggregates, typical of the species. With a little Iron oxide coating in places. A great example of Wavellite from Ballybunnion.

Description

A 10mm thick piece of black shale plays host on two side to arrays of interlocking radial Wavellite aggregates spread thinly but richly across each side of the specimen. One of the nicest of the specimens we recently acquired, this piece would sit well in any collection of fine British or Irish specimens.

Description

A delicate thin bed of bluish green radiating needles of Wavellite compacted to form a resinous looking layer upon which lay three circular radiating fans of Wavellite. A particularly interesting example of Wavellite from the locality exhibiting the finest sea blue colour.

Locality Sheshodonnell East Mine, Carron, The Burren, Co. Clare, Ireland.
Description

A massive granular Fluorite specimen with a cavity on one side lined with a layer of yellow globular aggregates of Smithsonite with several layers of the Smithsonite traversing the cavity.
The reverse of the specimen is also coated entirely with a layer of similarly coloured Smithsonite.
A fine example of the yellow Smithsonite characteristic of the location.
