Description

An unusual calcite specimen from the classic Levant section of Geevor mine in Cornwall.
The specimen is made up of many small interlocking stacked hexagonal plates of a creamy to pinkish colour.
Altogether they form a unique single hexagonal "beehive" shaped specimen.
Great specimen that would compliment any Cornish mineral collection
.

Nice affordable Cornish specimen and a classic. A typical example of Relistian 'pebble conglomerate',
a pneumatolytic breccia that shows both angular and rounded fragments
with Cassiterite crystals of up to 1.5mm dispersed on a thin layer of crystallised Chlorite
that has formed between the conglomerate pebbles.
Some Chalcopyrite and Quartz in association.

A single very pale greenish to near colourless, transparent crystal of Fluorite from Wheal Jane without matrix.
Showing composite stepped crystal growth in part, the crystal is bevelled on its edges with the dodecahedral face. Incipient cleavages are clearly visible but the crystal is stable.
