Description

A single, very pale lilac to near colourless, transparent crystal of Fluorapatite with a small area showing dark grayish green fibrous inclusions of actinolite.
Although not complete this is a particularly gemmy tabular crystal showing a high degree of transparency.
The large flat terminal faces show a glassy lustre and typical hexagonal growth patterning.
This crystal is a classic example of those found in alpine type geological environments - very different from the more blocky crystals found in pegmatites these show the typical tabular habit remeniscent of the classic examples from the Swiss and Austrian Alps.
